From manufacturing and distribution to field sales and field service, our customers have seen an ever-increasing need for supply chain visibility, execution and optimization that extends from producers/suppliers to end consumers. And this demand for data accessibility and interaction is accelerating. To stay competitive, businesses must take advantage of their critical supply chain data by getting it into the hands of the most relevant people in real time and at the point where value creation occurs.

According to a recent supplement of the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, between 9 and 41 percent of medications in a sample of 16,800 drugs fell short of meeting quality standards. In an industry whose offerings include lifesaving drugs, substandard products put the public health at risk—and the stakes couldn’t be higher. In a foreword to the supplement, former FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg writes, “Substandard and falsified medical products pose significant risks to global health with potentially devastating and far-reaching consequences.” The crux of the problem is a lack of visibility along the supply chain, which can lead to these vulnerabilities.
DSI relocated to 1201 Walnut in downtown Kansas City a little over three years ago and we’ve already outgrown two floors of space. We’re now in the midst of renovating the building’s 10th floor to add 20,000 more square feet. When the renovation is complete, DSI will occupy a total of 60,000 square feet of space on three floors, making DSI the building’s second-largest tenant.
Gold Eagle Co. manufactures and distributes several leading brands of automotive chemicals that protect and boost vehicle performance. To continue to succeed in a competitive market, they had to overcome a challenge: manual processes that limited visibility and created other inefficiencies along the supply chain. Among those inefficiencies, delayed entry caused loss of inventory visibility, which further delayed transaction processing and led to inaccurate inventory statements down the line.
That’s one of the primary reasons we look forward to attending and participating in the conference. There’s no doubt that companies face a variety of supply chain challenges that, depending on the industry, continue to multiply as supply chains become larger and more complex. Today’s supply chain solutions should help overcome that complexity and deliver the end-to-end visibility and execution that the digital economy demands.
