Simplifying Your Warehouse Configuration with ScanWorkX® for Microsoft Dynamics 365

Posted by on January 6, 2021 12:52 pm

In our first ScanWorkX blog, we explored the need to reevaluate your supply chain if your organization is struggling to meet customer demands. “For those who have already invested in the Azure Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics 365, you are on the path to a more efficient, adaptive supply chain. Taking the next step with DSI® ScanWorkX® and contactless capabilities can be the difference in achieving optimized processes.”

DSI ScanWorkX empowers you to manage your warehouse and production facilities with a state-of-the-art, mobile inventory scanning solution. ScanWorkX offers best-in-class functionality, extending your mobile capabilities with highly configurable UIs that create operational efficiencies within your four walls.

ScanWorkX fills the gaps between out-of-the box mobile solutions and warehouse processes. A few of the features that increase your ability to manage your warehouse inventory efficiently include:

  • The Smart Barcode capability provides on-demand printing of labels within key processes of D365 workspaces while capturing signatures and images. It allows you to single scan a barcode that will update multiple fields at one time. Smart Barcodes are a completely configurable and timesaving feature for your warehouse resources when managing product. An example of this would be a product that has color, size, and dimension variants.
  • The List of Values (LOV) feature enables your users to find what they are looking for quickly if there are no barcodes or a damaged barcode.
  • The custom query option allows you to customize the list that is presented by creating static lists that can have multiple choice options, ranges, and filters.
  • Print Envoy is also fully integrated with D365 and provides a powerful tool to manage your label and barcoding needs. It is highly configurable with the capability to handle data streams to print to our Enterprise Printing Platform (EPP) or third-party solutions such as Bartender or Loftware.
  • Simplify the number of scans by using the Rapid Scan feature on ScanWorkX. This feature reduces the number of scans needed to execute a process such as an internal location move or cycle count, allowing the operator to efficiently account for multiple products and quantities in a location.

These are just a few of the many feature-rich functions that come with ScanWorkX to enhance and streamline your warehouse and production process.

In Part 3 of this series, “Bridging WHS vs WMS,” we will continue to showcase the value and efficiency that ScanWorkX brings to your business. You will learn how ScanWorkX bridges the gap between WHS and WMS with what we call a “hybrid” approach by utilizing Picking Workbench and LTL capabilities.
